Job summary

Cambian Lufton College is a specialist residential education provider for 16 to 25-year olds with Autism, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural and emotional needs. The college provides a 2-3-year pathway to prepare our students for adulthood, equipping them with the skills and qualities required to lead a fulfilled, independent and ambitious life.

The Assistant Behaviour Support Practitioner will work collaboratively with all teams to provide coaching and support to care and education

Qualifications

Level 3 in Health & Social Care / Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification in child/adult care + PBS/mental health/autism knowledge.
Training in intensive interaction, positive behavioural support and trauma-informed practice.
Experience with children or adults with learning disabilities and mental health support needs.

Responsibilities

Attend weekly MDT meetings in relation to behavioural support strategies.
Review audits, coaching observations and feedback on staff application on PBS approaches.
Provide coaching and support staff teams during periods of challenges.
Support with developing effective and accessible behavioural support plans in line with BILD PBS values.
Provide de-briefs, coach colleagues in effective de-briefing for colleagues and students, working closely with the clinical team to ensure communication levels are pitched correctly for each student.
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
