Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to work in a Birmingham school serving pupils aged 4–11 with a wide range of complex needs. You will provide 1-1 and small-group behaviour support, help children stay engaged and safe, and support learning across the day.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists and the support team to implement strategies, build emotional regulation, and foster positive relationships in a nurturing, structured environment.

Qualifications

  • Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Use a range of approaches to help pupils develop self-regulation, resilience and positive coping strategies.

Vision for Educationare seekinga dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to work within a school in Birmingham.

The Role:
  • We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and resilient Behavioural Support Assistant to join our dedicated team within a specialist school catering for pupils aged 4–11 with a wide range of complex needs. These needs may include social, emotional, and SEMH challenges, communication difficulties, and additional learning needs. The role requires someone who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young learners by providing consistent support, understanding, and encouragement.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider support team to implement individualised behaviour support strategies. You will play a key role in helping pupils manage their behaviour, develop emotional regulation skills, and build positive relationships with others. This includes supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, promoting engagement with learning activities, and ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and supported within a structured and nurturing environment.

About you:

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you will:
