Hays Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant specializing in managing challenging behaviour to work in a provision in Leicester for pupils unable to access mainstream education. This is a term-time only position. If you have experience supporting vulnerable young people, we would love to hear from you.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will mentor pupils throughout their school day, managing behaviour in the classroom and supporting during transition times. You will serve as a positive role model and provide 1:1 support for students requiring guidance. The pupils you support may have additional needs such as SEMH, ASD, and ADHD. Working with Hays offers both part-time and full-time opportunities across SEND and mainstream schools in Leicestershire. Our Teaching Assistants make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse care needs, life experiences, and personalities, making each day unique.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience working with vulnerable young people, preferably in an educational setting or as a mentor/coach. You should thrive in challenging environments and enjoy adapting to new situations. Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, or ADHD is essential. Most importantly, you should be confident stepping into new schools and ready to support pupils with various needs.
