Job summary

PK Education Limited is seeking a confident and resilient SEMH/Behaviour Support Worker to support secondary-aged pupils within a specialist provision in the Featherstone area. The role is paid at £98–£115 per day and runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm, term-time only with a potential long-term, temp-to-perm opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEMH schools or alternative provision.
• Secondary behaviour support or pastoral work experience.
• Youth work, mentoring or residential childcare experience.
• Experience in PRUs, inclusion units or specialist provisions is a plus.
• Experience supporting pupils with trauma, ADHD, autism or emotional regulation needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in lessons and during less-structured periods.

SEMH / Behaviour Support Worker – Secondary

PK Education is recruiting a confident and resilient SEMH/Behaviour Support Worker to support secondary-aged pupils within a specialist provision in the Featherstone area.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in lessons and during less-structured periods
• Using positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils regulate their emotions and re-engage with learning
• Working alongside teaching, pastoral and safeguarding teams
• Recording progress and reporting any concerns appropriately

We would particularly like to hear from people with experience in:

• SEMH schools or alternative provision
• Secondary behaviour support or pastoral work
• Youth work, mentoring or residential childcare
• PRUs, inclusion units or specialist resource provisions
• Supporting pupils with trauma, ADHD, autism or emotional regulation needs
• Team Teach or similar positive-handling training would be beneficial but is not essential.
