Job summary

Milk Education Guildford is seeking passionate Behaviour Support Assistants to support students across SEN and SEMH schools in Guildford and surrounding areas. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, implementing behaviour strategies and building positive relationships.

The successful candidate will have strong behaviour management, experience with SEN/SEMH, and a patient, nurturing approach. Milk Education offers weekly pay, dedicated consultant, and access to CPD training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in school, youth work, care, or residential settings.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
• Supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, and additional learning needs.
• Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual support plans.
• Working closely with teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff to promote positive outcomes.
• Using effective de-escalation and behaviour management techniques when required.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom environment.

About the Behaviour Support Assistant Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this Behaviour Support Assistant role, you will need:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people (school, youth work, care, residential, or similar backgrounds considered)
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is desirable
• A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
