Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a Primary School in North Durham. You will help pupils develop communication and self-management skills, provide one-to-one or small group support, and reinforce positive conduct to create a calm learning environment.

The role offers training, flexible days, and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant to help you grow in a school-facing career with APSCo-compliant arrangements.

Qualifications

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred).

Behaviour Support Assistant

Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor behaviour in the classroom and reinforce positive conduct

Requirements or Skills:
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning
  • Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
    • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
