Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Harrow, North West London

Type: Permanent, Full Time

We are currently working with a secondary school in Harrow that is looking to recruit an experienced Behaviour Support Assistant to support students with challenging behaviour.

The school requires a Behaviour Support Assistant to help manage social, emotional, and mental health difficulties through a therapeutic approach. They have a unique approach to behaviour management and focus on nurturing and supporting students' individual needs. The headteacher is very hands-on and offers ongoing support to all staff. The school prides itself on having long-standing staff members, which speaks volumes.

Key skills and experience needed:
  • A degree-level qualification is required.
  • School experience is preferred but not essential.
  • An understanding of social, emotional, and mental health issues.
  • Strong behaviour management techniques.
  • Previous support work within a school or other child-related experience.
  • Professional manner.
  • Enthusiasm and a friendly approach.
  • Experience or knowledge of special educational needs.
