Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Hailsham
Salary Range: £90-£110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate start
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a Primary School setting in Hailsham. This full-time role is available for an immediate start and offers a fulfilling opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural support to access their learning. You’ll be instrumental in helping them develop confidence, emotional regulation, and improved social interaction, while contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils displaying challenging behaviours on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive social skills.
  • Implement tailored strategies in line with individual behaviour plans.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to maintain consistency and structure.
  • De-escalate situations calmly and supportively when required.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to behaviour reviews and reports.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural difficulties, preferably in a primary setting.
  • A solid understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and behaviour management strategies.
  • Team-Teach training or similar de-escalation training (advantageous but not essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Resilience, patience, and a nurturing approach to behaviour support.
  • Have anupdated CV(covering thelast ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
