Behaviour Support Assistant - Bury (BL9)

Start Date: September 2025

Monarch Education are pleased to be working with a Bury based primary school, who are in search for a behaviour Support Assistant, to work 1:1 with a Year 2 child. This is a full-time opportunity Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, supporting said child both in their classwork and throughout the day.

• Bury-based primary school, accessible by bus, tram or car (on-site parking),
• 1:1 position with the opportunity to make an impact on children's development
• Full time Monday-Friday
• Competitive rates of daily pay (£90 - £110)
• Long term vacancy - starting in September 2025
• Registration with Monarch Education required before an immediate start
  
  

The child can exhibit disruptive behaviour as a result of getting frustrated, having struggled to engage with the curriculum. The successful TA needs the skills to defuse and redirect attention accordingly. Senior leadership of this primary school strongly believe the pupil requires a calming presence to support them, keeping them on track with work while building a positive, trusting relationship with the child.

Applicants should be comfortable encouraging the child to become assimilated into the classroom environment. Experience working 1:1 with pupils is beneficial, and candidates must prove they have appropriate knowledge of safeguarding and behavioural management in a KS1/primary setting.
