Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Immediate Start - End of Academic Year 2026)
Salary: 88- 95 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Rochdale. This role involves providing one-to-one support to a pupil exhibiting challenging behaviours, assisting in both large classroom settings and individual sessions. The position is available immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to a pupil with challenging behaviours, ensuring engagement and participation in lessons.
Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and de-escalate challenging situations.
Assist in the delivery of lessons, supporting the pupil's academic progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging the pupil's social and emotional development.
Collaborate with teaching staff and the SENCO to monitor and track the pupil's progress and well-being.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with students displaying challenging behaviours.
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
Ability to build rapport and trust with students.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students.
