Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in North Shields. You will support students with behavioural and emotional needs, building positive relationships and promoting engagement in learning.

The role is full-time with a September start and long-term opportunity. Weekly pay and dedicated consultant support are provided through Protocol Education.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting young people.

• Confidence working with students who may present additional challenges.
• Previous experience with young people desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
• Build positive and professional relationships with young people.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Help students develop resilience, confidence and self-regulation strategies.
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
• Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions.
• Work closely with pastoral, SEND and safeguarding teams.
• Act as a positive role model throughout the school day.

The Role

• Support students who require additional behavioural and emotional support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
