Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants to work in a Pupil Referral Service in Swansea. The school supports learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education is looking for Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants in or around the Swansea area who are experienced in any of these fields.

As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.

Overview:

  • Title: Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants
  • Pay: £88.98 per day minimum
  • Location: Swansea
  • Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting and supervising learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD or Challenging Behaviour
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
  • Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies



The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
