Job description

A special school in north Birmingham are currently seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to work withing their key stage 2 and 3 age groups (7 to 14 years) as a long term, full time relief cover. You would be required to move around the classes to help provide support until the end of this academic year on a 5 day a week basis. The classes are mixed ages according to abilities and needs of the children. The school offers education to children with complex needs, autism and ADHD, including individuals whom can display challenging behaviour. The school is very team focused and you would be joining a very friendly and welcoming group of staff. There will be no personal care required for this role. The role: • SEND TA, relief cover working across the classes • Key Stage 2 and 3 (ages 7 to 14 year) • Supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD and complex needs whom can display challenging behaviour • 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday • Start date September 2025, for the duration of the 2025/26 academic year Requirements: • Experience of working with individuals with complex ASD and ADHD – Essential • Experience of working with individuals whom can display challenging behaviour – Essential • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential • Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
