Job summary

Orbis Education And Care is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Specialist to support schools across Powys. This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week with a permanent contract and a competitive salary of £30,500 per annum.

You will deliver expert behavioural consultation, coaching, and training to staff, helping create inclusive learning environments. Responsibilities include assessments, PBS plan development, staff coaching, and data-informed reporting, with travel across Powys.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Behaviour Analysis, or a related discipline.
• Level 4 Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) qualification.
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND and behavioural needs.
• Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and functional assessment approaches.
• Experience working within educational settings.
• Knowledge of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong report-writing and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Powys.

Responsibilities

• Providing behavioural consultation and support to schools across Powys.
• Undertaking behavioural and functional assessments.
• Developing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and intervention strategies.
• Supporting schools to implement trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
• Delivering training on behaviour support, regulation, autism, ADHD, de-escalation, inclusion, and positive outcomes.
• Coaching teachers, teaching assistants, and school leaders to build sustainable practice.
• Supporting the reduction of exclusions, restrictive practices, and barriers to learning.
• Attending multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Analysing behavioural and wellbeing data to inform interventions.
• Producing professional reports, recommendations, and documentation.
