Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for a Primary & Nursery setting in Spinney Hills, Leicester. The role involves supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, 1:1 and in small groups, across Nursery to KS1, under the guidance of EYFS staff and pastoral teams.

We welcome candidates with experience in Primary/EYFS, understanding of SEND/SEMH needs, and a collaborative approach to planning with teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• Experience in Primary, Nursery or EYFS settings.
• Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and attachment-informed approaches.
• Ability to implement behaviour interventions and monitor outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Reflective practice and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 behavioural and emotional support to pupils with additional needs.
• Facilitate small group programmes on social skills and self-regulation.
• Support children across Nursery, Reception and KS1 classrooms.
• Assist pupils with transitions and routines.
• Support behaviour management during playtimes and lunchtimes.
• Implement and monitor behaviour support plans with progress tracking.
• Use restorative, play-based, and trauma-informed strategies.
• Model positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Observe and record pupil progress and outcomes.
• Contribute to planning, reviews and multi-agency discussions.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Collaborate with teachers, EYFS staff, SENCO and pastoral teams.
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies.
