Be the Positive Role Model That Changes a Young Person’s Future
Are you someone who can build trust, remain calm under pressure, and motivate young people to achieve their potential?
We are working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Halifax to recruit a dedicated Behaviour & Learning Mentor to support students who require additional guidance, structure and encouragement to succeed in education.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who thrives on building positive relationships and supporting young people who may have experienced significant barriers to learning.
Many of the learners have SEND, SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, emotionally based school avoidance, or have become disengaged from mainstream education. We are looking for a resilient, consistent and compassionate individual who can help students develop confidence, improve behaviour and re-engage with learning.
As a Behaviour & Learning Mentor, you will work closely with students both inside and outside the classroom, providing support, guidance and positive challenge.
You will play a key role in helping learners regulate emotions, develop coping strategies, improve attendance and engagement, and achieve positive outcomes.
This is not a traditional classroom support role. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships, provide stability, and become a trusted adult in a young person’s educational journey.
This specialist Alternative Provision supports young people who have struggled to access mainstream education due to social, emotional, behavioural and additional learning needs.
The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where strong relationships, high expectations and personalised support enable learners to re-engage with education and build positive futures.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and safer recruitment procedures.
