Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors to work in secondary schools across Dudley and surrounding areas. The role focuses on building positive relationships, supporting pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs, and motivating students to re-engage with learning.

Ideal candidates may come from sports coaching, university programmes or youth work. Full-time opportunities exist with PAYE payments, holiday pay, pension contributions and safeguarding training provided.

Job description

Flourish Education are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work within secondary schools across Dudley and the surrounding areas.

Are you a Sports Graduate, Sports Coach or Graduate looking to build a career working with young people? Do you have the confidence, resilience and ability to motivate others? This could be an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a secondary school while making a real difference to pupils.

We are looking for enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors who can build positive relationships with young people and support pupils who may struggle with behaviour, engagement or barriers to learning. Your experience from sports coaching, university, youth work, mentoring or other roles working with young people could be highly transferable to this position.

Perhaps you are a Sports Graduate considering a career in teaching, a qualified sports coach looking to move into education, or a recent graduate looking for a rewarding full-time role working with young people. Previous school experience is desirable but not essential, as the most important qualities are confidence, resilience, patience and the ability to engage and motivate pupils.

The role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils

  • Working alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team
  • Encouraging pupils to make positive choices
  • Supporting pupils to develop their communication and social skills
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews where appropriate

Required Skills and Experience for this Behaviour Mentor role:

Working for Flourish Education as a Behaviour Mentor, you will receive:

  • £100 to £110 per day, depending on experience, which equates to approximately £19,500 to £21,450 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This Behaviour Mentor opportunity is based across Dudley and the surrounding areas, with a range of longer-term opportunities available within secondary schools.

The role is easily commutable from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Sedgley, Tipton, Coseley, Netherton, Quarry Bank and surrounding areas.

Depending on the location of the school, opportunities may also be accessible from nearby areas including Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Birmingham and Worcestershire.

This could be an ideal role for a Sports Graduate, Sports Coach or Graduate looking for a full-time role working with young people in Dudley. It is particularly suited to individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, youth work, mentoring or coaching.
