Job summary

Engage Education in Leeds is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to work in a supportive primary school in the WF3 area. You will support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping to engage them in class and reduce disruption.

The role involves liaising with teachers and parents to track progress and tailor support to needs such as Autism, SEMH and ADHD. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, enthusiastic and capable of building excellent relationships with pupils.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or adults with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to work one-to-one or in small groups.
  • Experience with Autistic, SEMH, ADHD or other learning disabilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Behaviour Mentor
About the role:

Engage Education are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work in one of our supportive primary schools in the WF3 area. The successful candidate will have experience working with children or adults with challenging behaviour. The school are seeking educators to work with a wide range of needs, from children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs to more Sensory Behavioural Difficulties linked to Autism.

Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality mentors to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.

This is a full time, long term position and the school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Your Role:
  • Supporting on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • You will be assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities
The ideal candidate:
  • Outgoing and mentoring manner
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
  • You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
