Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a Behaviour Mentor for ASAP opportunities across Havering, East London, including Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster and Rainham.

You will support pupils with social, emotional or behavioural needs, building confidence and routines while following school plans and safeguarding checks. The role offers daily pay dependent on experience and assignment, with flexible patterns to match availability.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people through mentoring, education, youth work or a related role.
• A resilient Behaviour Mentor who listens well and maintains calm, predictable boundaries.
• Good safeguarding awareness and the ability to follow plans without taking a punitive approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one, alongside safeguarding checks.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive working relationships through regular contact and consistent expectations.
• Help pupils prepare for lessons, manage transitions and practise positive peer interactions.
• Use agreed regulation and de-escalation approaches, seeking staff support when needed.
• Track engagement and share observations with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral colleagues.

Your Role as a Behaviour Mentor

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support pupils whose social, emotional or behavioural needs affect their participation, following the school's agreed support plans.
