A well-established Secondary School in Wakefield is looking for a Behaviour Manager to join its pastoral team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role would suit someone who is consistent, fair and confident when dealing with challenging situations and who understands that effective behaviour management requires both clear expectations and appropriate support.

The Behaviour Manager will play a central role in maintaining the school's expectations around behaviour. You will work closely with students, teachers, pastoral leaders and senior staff to address concerns and support positive changes.

A significant part of the role will involve working directly with students who require additional intervention. You will help pupils understand expectations, reflect on their behaviour and develop strategies that enable them to make better choices.

You will also monitor behaviour records and identify patterns. This could include repeated incidents involving an individual student, particular lessons or specific times of the school day. You will use this information to help pastoral leaders determine appropriate interventions.

Supporting teachers will also be important. Where behaviour concerns arise, you may provide practical advice, assist with interventions and ensure relevant information is shared with staff.

You will communicate with parents and carers when appropriate. These conversations need to be professional and constructive, with a focus on working together to support the student.
