A well-established secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a confident, resilient and highly organised Behaviour Manager to join its pastoral and student-support team.
This is a key role for an individual who understands the importance of clear expectations, consistent boundaries and positive relationships when supporting young people. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, pastoral leaders, senior staff and families to promote positive behaviour and ensure that students are supported to make appropriate choices.
The role is varied and will involve responding to behaviour incidents, monitoring patterns, supporting interventions and contributing to wider behaviour strategies across the school.
The school is looking for someone who can remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations. You will need to combine high expectations with a supportive approach, helping students understand the impact of their behaviour and providing appropriate opportunities to improve.
This is a well-established secondary school in Nottingham with high expectations for student achievement, behaviour and personal development. The school is committed to providing a calm, purposeful environment in which students can learn effectively and develop the skills they need for future success.
The school recognises that effective behaviour management depends on consistency across the whole school. Staff work collaboratively to establish clear expectations and provide appropriate support to students who require additional intervention.
The Behaviour Manager will therefore play an important role in ensuring that students receive consistent messages and that behaviour concerns are addressed promptly and fairly.
The school places considerable value on positive relationships. While expectations remain high, staff are encouraged to understand the individual circumstances that may contribute to behavioural difficulties and to work constructively with students and families.
The Behaviour Manager will work as part of the school's wider pastoral structure, liaising regularly with pastoral leaders, heads of year, teachers and senior leadership.
You will monitor behaviour information, identify patterns and support targeted interventions. You will also contribute to meetings and discussions about individual students where behaviour is affecting learning, attendance or wider school engagement.
A visible presence around the school will be important. The successful candidate should be confident engaging with students across different settings and responding appropriately when incidents occur.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, pastoral, behaviour or community setting. Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour would be highly advantageous.
The school needs someone who is confident and consistent but who also understands that behaviour management is most effective when positive relationships are established.
