Role Description

Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer

Location: Maidstone

Time Commitment: Flexible

The Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer will play an important role in the lives of the people we support in Maidstone, by being a reliable companion to attend activities they enjoy. These activities might include:

• Going for a walk
• Attending a concert
• Going to the cinema
• Going out on shopping trips
• Going to a nightclub and pub evenings, etc.

Skills required:

• To have a good sense of humour and love to chat
• To be punctual and reliable
• To be kind, empathetic and friendly
• To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
• To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation

You will also need to undertake safeguarding training and any role-specific training.
