Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an energetic Before and After School club Assistant in Horley, Surrey. You will work split shifts from 07:15–09:00 and 15:00–18:00, helping deliver wraparound care and supporting children at the start and end of the school day.

You’ll plan engaging activities, manage transitions, assist with meals, and ensure safeguarding standards. Benefits include competitive pay and a dedicated consultant for support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on childcare experience in school, nursery, or wraparound care.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS on Update Service if not already held.
• Paediatric First Aid or Food Hygiene certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging activities like games, crafts, outdoor play, and sports.
• Manage morning and afternoon transitions at breakfast club and handovers to teachers/parents.
• Assist with serving healthy breakfasts and afternoon snacks.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment following safeguarding standards.
• Support children’s social development and confidence in a relaxed setting.
• Provide updates to parents at drop-off and pick-up times.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Positive Relationships: Support childrens social development, teamwork, and confidence in a relaxed setting.
• Liaise with Parents: Provide friendly, helpful updates to parents at drop:off and collection times.

Requirements

• Must:Haves (Essential)
• Hands:on childcare experience (school, nursery, or wraparound care setting).
• Availability for both morning (07:15:09:00) and afternoon (15:00:18:00) shifts, Monday to Friday.
• Approachable, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one).
• Nice:to:Haves (Desirable)
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
• Valid Paediatric First Aid or Food Hygiene certification.
