Job summary

Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains in the United Kingdom invites an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Automation Software Team within Assembly Systems on a full-time permanent basis.

You will design, develop, and validate PLC, HMI, and machine-vision automation programs using Beckhoff TwinCAT, PackML, and object-oriented approaches. You will create reusable function blocks to ensure scalable and robust software across multiple machines powering high-performance power units.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
Proven expertise in Beckhoff TwinCAT and PackML frameworks.
Experience with robotics and machine vision integration.
Strong understanding of PLC programming, HMI development, and software version control.
Ability to design scalable, robust automation software for production environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and validate automation programs for production systems.
Create, maintain, and evolve reusable function blocks for scalable architectures.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver production-ready software across machines.
