Business Development Manager - Aluminium Extrusion & Fabrication

Salary: £60,000 + £500 per month car allowance + 6% bonus

Location: UK-based / Hybrid

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading business within the metals and materials sector.

This is a key commercial role focused on developing new business and expanding existing opportunities within the aluminium extrusion and fabrication market.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in aluminium, with specific experience within the extrusion and fabrication sector. You will need to understand the technical and commercial aspects of aluminium extrusion and how fabricated components and value-added services can provide solutions for customers.

The Role

• Develop and grow new business opportunities within the aluminium extrusion and fabrication market
• Identify and target new customers across relevant manufacturing and engineering sectors
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
• Develop existing accounts and maximise commercial opportunities
• Work with customers to understand their requirements and provide appropriate aluminium solutions
• Promote aluminium extrusion, fabrication and value-added services
• Manage the full sales process from initial prospecting through to quotation and contract negotiation
• Prepare and present commercial proposals and quotations
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while protecting margins
• Work closely with internal technical, production and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular commercial updates
• Achieve agreed sales, revenue and margin targets

About You

We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager with genuine experience within the aluminium industry.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a Business Development, Sales or Account Management position
• Strong experience working with aluminium
• Specific experience within aluminium extrusion
• Experience selling or working with fabrication within the extrusion industry
• A good understanding of manufacturing processes and value-added services
• Experience dealing with customers within manufacturing, engineering or other industrial sectors
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• The ability to develop relationships at multiple levels, from purchasing through to senior management
• A proactive approach to identifying and winning new business
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• A strong understanding of customer requirements and the ability to develop commercially viable solutions

Industry experience is essential for this position. We are specifically looking for someone who understands the aluminium extrusion and fabrication market, rather than a generalist BDM from an unrelated sector.

• £60,000 basic salary
