Job summary

Cummins is seeking a Battery Pack Design Placement Student in Milton Keynes, UK, within the Accelera Business Segment. The role focuses on mechanical product design and CAD-based component development, with emphasis on low-cost manufacturing and assembly.

You will gain exposure to the full design cycle, from concept to prototyping, during a summer 2027 start. The placement requires onsite presence 3 days per week; relocation or travel to Milton Keynes is expected.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a technical degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Design/Thermal Design or Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in electrification and Li‑ion batteries.
• Strong IT skills: MS Office, presentations, CAD, and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical & thermal engineers in product development.
• Understand fundamentals of structural design and product development cycle.
