Job summary

The Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder is seeking a confident, enthusiastic Bartender to join our American Bar team. The on target earning potential is £37,138 per annum, comprising a base salary of £28,838 plus gratuities and service charge.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in high-end bars, ideally in a luxury environment similar to our American Bar.
• Strong technical bartending knowledge with a passion for craft and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide highest standards of service, drinks preparation and bar organisation.
• Prepare wines, whisky and cocktails and other beverages.
• Deliver efficient service of drinks and create a memorable guest experience.
• Share knowledge of cocktails, wines and spirits with guests.
• Prepare drinks meticulously, follow recipes and present immaculately.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised bar with fresh ingredients for service.
• Contribute to development of new drinks and offerings; upsell to guests.

• You’ll consistently provide the highest standards of service, drinks preparation and bar organisation, always seeking to exceed our guests’ expectations
• Bringing a dynamic, warm and friendly service to our American Bar; from preparing wines, whisky and cocktails to pouring tea and coffee
• You’ll be delivering efficient service of drinks, providing a professional and memorable experience for all our guests
• Assisting guests with sharing your knowledge of classic cocktails, wines and spirits
• You’ll be meticulous in preparing drinks; accurately measuring, following recipes and making sure they’re presented immaculately
• Maintaining a clean and well‑organised bar area, including preparing fresh ingredients for service
• You’ll bring your creativity and contribute to the development of new drinks and offerings
• Proficiently up selling and encouraging other team members to do the same at every opportunity
• Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way

The kind of person we're looking for:

• You have extensive experience in high‑end bars, ideally within a luxury environment similar to our intimate, glamorous and decadent American Bar.
• Strong in technical bartending knowledge, you combine this with genuine passion for the craft and a commitment to exceptional service.
• Currently operating in a similar role, you understand luxury hospitality environments, and you always bring a positive, guest‑focused attitude
• You bring a fresh perspective to every interaction, recognising that while an issue may be familiar, for the guest it is often their first experience
• With a keen eye for detail, you also have excellent organisational skills, creativity, and a natural desire to exceed guest expectations
