Job summary

The Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder is seeking a conscientious Public Area Assistant to join our Accommodation Services team, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across public spaces. The role offers 8am to 4.30pm and 2.30pm to 11pm shifts, five days across seven, with a base salary plus gratuities.

The on target earnings of £33,122 per annum include £28,122 base salary and about £5,000 anticipated in gratuities and service charges.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in public areas, reception and service spaces.
• Restock and replace items in public areas and bathrooms to ensure guests have what they need.
• Service bathrooms: clean surfaces, floors, baths, basins, toilets to a high standard.
• Vacuum floors, corridors, stairs and lifts; manage cleaning materials appropriately.
• Interact with guests to exceed expectations and ensure a luxurious stay.

We are currently seeking a conscientious and diligentPublic Area Assistantto join our Accommodation Services team, looking after our public areas.

The shift patterns for this role are 8am to 4.30pm and 2.30pm to 11pm, working 5 days from 7.

Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:

• Consistently delivering and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, room preparation and presentation throughout the estate, including deep cleaning exercises
• Taking huge pride in ensuring the cleanliness, presentation and hygiene of all the public areas, reception and service areas are always achieved
• Restocking and replacing items in public areas and bathrooms, making sure our guests have everything they need when visiting or in advance of their stay
• Servicing bathrooms by washing and emptying bins; cleaning all surfaces and floors; showers, baths, basins, bidets, and toilets to the highest standard
• Vacuuming bathrooms, bedroom floors, corridors, stairs, and lifts to remove all debris; checking the vacuum cleaner each week; using the correct cleaning materials for each particular task
• Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way

The kind of person we're looking for:

• Ideally, you'll have previous experience within a similar role though full training is offered; you'll also be available to work a flexible schedule
• You’ll be required to complete standard forms to record events on a regular basis and interact with our guests so a strong grasp of English language, both written and spoken, are essential; additional languages would also be beneficial!
• Highly motivated and possessing an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand
• You have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
• A strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual
