Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality cocktails and beverages.
• Assess guest needs and make recommendations confidently.
• Provide a smooth, guest-focused experience from start to finish.
• Work closely with the team to maintain speed, cleanliness and consistency.
• Restock, set up and close down responsibilities.
• Handle cash and POS transactions accurately.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene and licensing regulations.
• Create a welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Bartender – Nightshade, Cardiff

Cardiff’s hidden speakeasy, where every guest is VIP and every drink tells a story.

Pay: Hourly rate £12.90 + £4.90–£5.20 per hour in Tronc (on average). In addition to your standard hourly wage, you'll receive a share of Tronc, of which 100% is distributed to the team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after an enthusiastic and skilled bartender who’s passionate about hospitality, cocktails, and creating meaningful experiences. You’ll have strong bar knowledge, great attention to detail, and a genuine love for what you do. Ideally, you’ve worked in a busy bar setting before and understand how to read the room, pace service, and maintain high standards in a fast-moving environment. You’re a team player who brings energy and positivity to every shift, and you’re always eager to learn, grow, and support those around you.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing and serving high-quality cocktails and beverages to guests
• Assessing guests’ needs and making recommendations with confidence and warmth
• Supporting a seamless, relaxed guest experience from start to finish
• Working closely with your team to maintain speed, cleanliness, and consistency
• Staying guest-focused and anticipating needs during each stage of service
• Contributing to daily set-up and close-down, including restocking and cleaning
• Handling cash and POS transactions with accuracy
• Complying with all food safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations
• Helping to create a safe, welcoming environment for both guests and your team
