Job summary

Hargreaves Industrial Services seeks a Barlow Leading Hand to join our team at Drax Power Station. You will lead the shift, coordinate with Barlow Supervisors, and ensure compliance with safety practices and permit requirements.

The ideal candidate will hold IOSH safety certification, have experience with mobile plant and materials handling, and be capable of fault finding, conducting safety audits, and delivering toolbox talks on site.

Qualifications

• Valid IOSH managing safety or equivalent.
• Experience with materials handling and mobile plant.
• Competent in HIS and Drax Power Safety rules.
• Ability to fault find problems and act.
• Environmental care awareness.
• Mobile plant operator.
• Harness trained.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift team and supervise in the Barlow Supervisors absence.
• Ensure HIS compliance with Drax Barlow permit/planning consents.
• Hand over and report operational status to OSS.
• Inspect plant areas and carry out safety audits.
• Drive site vehicles and mobile plant in line with site rules.
• Complete all site check sheets for equipment (mobile & static).
• Deliver safety toolbox talks and ensure safety information is acknowledged.
