Job summary

Sodexo at Royal Stoke Hospital is seeking a Barista to join a welcoming team. You will craft coffee and serve a diverse range of foods, provide warm hospitality, and communicate professionally with patients, staff and visitors during night shifts.

This role requires prior food service experience; Barista or Costa coffee experience is desirable and Level 2 Food Safety is preferred. You will work 26.15 hours per week, 4 nights on, 4 nights off, from 10pm to 6am, with uniforms provided and access

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation and service within a fast-paced, customer-facing food or retail environment.
• Barista/Costa coffee experience desirable, with Level 2 Food Safety preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and work with teams at all levels.
• Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively while working under pressure.
• Positive, flexible team player with a willingness to learn and develop in the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle retail/food produce for daily service, ensuring correct storage, stock rotation, allergen safety, and compliance with Sodexo standards
• Deliver excellent customer service, operate and balance the till accurately, and upsell products to drive sales growth
• Maintain high standards of food safety, personal hygiene, uniform presentation, and a safe working environment
• Manage stock levels, promotional activity awareness, and minimise waste or spoilage across all retail areas
• Participate in required training, appraisals, and competency checks, and support management with additional duties as needed

Work Details

• 26.15 Hours a Week / 4 Nights on 4 Nights off / 10pm - 6am
• £10.90 - £13.14 per hour
• Uniform Provided / Access to Blue Light Card / Sodexo Benefits
• 20 Days Holiday a Year + Bank Holidays
• Location is Royal Stoke Hospital
