Peabody Community Foundation is seeking a passionate Barista for the Darwin Court Community Centre in London. You will deliver a welcoming retail service to centre users, visitors, and employees, preparing beverages and light food with enthusiasm and care.

This zero-hours role offers as-needed hours with a guaranteed 4 hours per week, helping maintain a high-quality, responsive service and a clean, inviting coffee bar environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service.
• A Level 2 food hygiene certificate or above (desirable).
• Passion for great food and drink and delivering excellent customer service.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Flexibility to work additional paid hours when required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso drinks, teas, and blended coffees.
• Serve light food items such as muffins, paninis, and bagels, and keep the coffee bar area clean and stocked.
• Take customer orders, process payments, restock supplies, and set up product displays.
• Maintain equipment, check temperatures, and support health and safety practices per Peabody policies.
• May take on roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider.

Our Vacancy

We're looking for a passionate and customer-focused Barista to join our coffee bar team at Darwin Court Community Centre. In this role, you'll help deliver a high-quality and responsive retail service to all centre users, visitors, and employees. You'll be at the heart of creating a welcoming environment, serving delicious drinks and food with enthusiasm and care. Whether it's preparing a perfect espresso or keeping the coffee bar clean and well-stocked, you'll play a key part in ensuring every customer enjoys a great experience.

This is a zero-hours contract position, providing cover for staff absence due to holiday or sickness. Hours will be offered on an as-needed basis. Guaranteed 4 hours per week

What you'll do

On a day-to-day basis, you'll prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso drinks, teas, and blended coffees. You'll also serve light food items such as muffins, paninis, and bagels, and ensure the coffee bar area is clean, organised, and compliant with food hygiene standards. You'll take customer orders, process payments, restock supplies, and help set up product displays. You'll be responsible for maintaining equipment, checking temperatures, and supporting health and safety practices in line with Peabody's policies. You may also be asked to take on roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider.
