Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Barbering Tutor / Trainer (Part Time) for a centre-based role. You will teach Level 2 in Barbering, embedding literacy and employability skills while using existing resources and creating new ones.

The role demands an experienced Barber with a passion for training, capable of delivering engaging sessions, advising learners, and upholding health and safety standards in a centre-based environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Barbering qualification at Level 3.
• Must hold solid, occupational experience of employment as a Barber.
• Experience of delivering training/workshops to groups of learners - or providing on-the-job training within the workplace.
• Hold - or be willing to work towards - a recognised Teaching qualification.
• Must hold own GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalents.
• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.

Responsibilities

• Teach/assess aspiring Barbers through a Level 2 vocational qualification, embedding literacy and employability skills.
• Prepare and deliver lessons addressing training needs including literacy, numeracy, digital skills, language and employability barriers.
• Utilise delivery resources and prepare own material when required.
• Assist learners in identifying skills to progress towards career aspirations.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing information, advice and guidance to learners.
• Be flexible with delivery methods, provide differentiation, and adapt to learners' needs.
• Conduct daily tool/equipment checks with health and safety prioritisation.
• Demonstrate energy and passion to motivate/train clients to realise potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Job Title: Barbering Tutor / Trainer (Part Time)

Location: Centre based

Salary: up to £35,000 (pro rata)

Package: Excellent Holiday Entitlement, Pension + more

Type: Part Time, Permanent (29.25 hours)

The hours are: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 07:45am - 5pm (with 1 hour for lunch) and Friday 07:45am - 12:15pm

The successful candidate will be an experienced Barber with a genuine passion for training and developing others, and the ability to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to begin a successful career in Barbering.

Duties:

• Teach/assess aspiring Barber's through a Level 2 vocational qualification, as well as embedding Literacy and Employability skills.
• Prepare and deliver lessons that address the training needs of the group including basic literacy, numeracy, digital skills, language and other social / employability barriers to employment.
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Conduct daily tool/equipment checks, ensuring secure management protocols are met and that health and safety is prioritised at all times.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
