Job summary

Find Recruitment Group LTD is seeking a Hairdressing and Barbering Apprenticeship Tutor. The role is home based with local travel across Yorkshire to observe learners and deliver Level 2–Level 3 programmes, including distance learning via an online portal.

Applicants should hold a recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS/Cert Ed) and an assessor qualification (D32/33/A1/CAVA), with Maths/English/ICT at level 2 and Level 3 barbering/hairdressing qualifications. Driving is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach hair and barbering with current CPD.
• Minimum teaching qualification (PTLLS / Cert Ed).
• Assessor qualification and up-to-date sector knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hair and barbering programmes from Level 2 to Level 3.
• Observe learners and support distance learning via online portal.
• Monitor progress and maintain records for QA and data needs.
• Travel locally in Yorkshire for learner observations.

Job description

FIND are a specialist staffing business, servicing the Skills, Learning & Apprenticeship markets across the UK. We are on the hunt for a Hairdressing and Barbering Apprenticeship Tutor to join a leading skills provider, who deliver apprenticeships across Yorkshire area.

This is a home based role with local travel across the Yorkshire area for learner observations. Our client are open to both part time (3 days per week) and full time applications.

The role will include the delivery of Hair and barbering qualifications to individual learners and facilitating distance learning using our on-line portal.

The main duties and responsibilities will include

• To deliver teaching and learning on a range of programmes, with mixed ability learners, from Level 2 to Level 3.
• To deliver programmes in a timely manner ensuring high levels of learner satisfaction, retention, and success.
• To promote the upskilling of Maths, English and digital skills with all learners ensuring they are reaching their full potential.
• To keep records, monitor and track learners progress so that management information and statistical data fulfil the requirements of the organisation's quality assurance and information systems, whilst maintaining a clear audit trail.
• To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments and assessments as required and to assess learners work in line with organisational and awarding body requirements
• To ensure on and off the job training is monitored and recorded demonstrating learner progress.
• Regularly review learner progress with learners and employers (where appropriate) at least every 10-12 weeks
• To participate in the organisation's Observation of teaching, learning and assessment and appraisal processes
• Attend performance review meetings

Skills, behaviours, and experience required

• A passion for implementing, enthusing and developing learner's Hair & barbering skills
• A recognised Teaching Qualification e.g. PTLLS/Certificate in Education
• A recognised Assessor Qualification e.g. D32/33, A1, CAVA
• Functional Skills in Maths, English, and ICT at level 2 or equivalent
• Level 3 Hairdressing and barbering qualifications/equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Vocational experience and up to date knowledge and CPD within the sector
• Full UK Driving license and use of own vehicle
