Job summary

The Zetter, a boutique hotel group in London, is seeking an Operational Support team member for our bar and parlour spaces. You will restock, prep, and support bartenders during service, while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Restock spirits, wines, beers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar essentials throughout service.
• Prepare and maintain ice wells, garnish stations, mixers, and back-bar displays.
• Assist bartenders with basic prep work (cutting garnishes, refilling syrups, preparing juices).
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of bar areas, storage, and equipment.
• Support stock rotation, deliveries, and stock counts as needed.
• Assist with guest service during busy periods and communicate with team to keep service flowing.

About The Role:

Operational Support:

• Restock spirits, wines, beers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar essentials throughout service.
• Prepare and maintain ice wells, garnish stations, mixers, and back-bar displays.
• Assist bartenders with basic prep work (e.g., cutting garnishes, refilling syrups, preparing juices).

Cleanliness & Chemistry:

• Ensure the bar area, service stations, storage areas, and equipment remain clean, organised, and safe.
• Collect and wash glassware promptly; polish glasses where required.
• Dispose of rubbish and recycling, ensuring compliance with hotel recycling procedures.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health & safety regulations.

Stock Management:

• Support stock rotation (FIFO), checking dates and product quality.
• Refill fridges and maintain stock presentation standards.
• Report low stock or equipment issues to the manager promptly.
• Assist with deliveries, stock counts, and inventory where required.

Service Support:

• Help deliver water, snacks, or simple items to guests during busy periods (if trained and authorised).
• Maintain a calm, professional presence during peak service, supporting the wider team.
• Communicate effectively with bartenders and floor staff to keep service flowing smoothly.

About You:

• Be creative; we do not do boxes at Zetter, so no need to think outside of it. We are always happy to bounce ideas off each other.
• Be accountable; it's your job after all. But remember we are a team; shout if you need help.
• Pay attention to details; once it is out there, it is impossible to get back so we expect your best work but always happy to help.
• Be sociable; get to know your colleagues. Some of them will surprise you! We have some talented people among us.
• Above all, be yourself; we are a lovely bunch. We work hard but also like to let our hair down!
