Job summary

The Black Lion Hotel is seeking a Bar Supervisor to lead the bar team, enhance guest experiences, and support hotel operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise shifts, deliver friendly, professional service, welcome guests, assist with check-ins and openings, maintain cleanliness, manage stock, and work days and evenings including weekends to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Are you an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team, creating memorable guest experiences, and working in a fast-paced environment? The Black Lion Hotel is looking for a friendly, confident, and customer-focused Bar Supervisor to join our team.

This is more than a bar role. As a Bar Supervisor, you'll play an important part in the overall operation of the hotel, helping to create a warm and welcoming environment for every guest from the moment they arrive.

About the role

You'll lead by example, supporting the day-to-day running of the bar while also assisting with hotel operations. Whether you're welcoming hotel guests, serving customers watching live sport, or helping create a fantastic atmosphere during our entertainment nights, you'll be committed to delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and support the bar team throughout each shift.

Deliver outstanding customer service with a friendly and professional approach.

Welcome guests and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Check hotel guests in and out efficiently and professionally.

Build rapport with customers and guests, ensuring everyone feels valued and well looked after.

Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues confidently.

Assist with opening and closing procedures.

Support stock control and maintain excellent standards of cleanliness.

Ensure licensing, health and safety, and company procedures are followed.

Work closely with colleagues across both the bar and hotel to ensure a seamless guest experience.
