Bar Manager (Drink Operations Manager) at The Pear Tree at Purton: Join Our Exceptional Events Team - up to £30k including OTE

Location: Purton - Swindon

We are seeking a creative, passionate, and experienced Bar Manager to lead our bar team, enhance our drinks program, and ensure memorable guest experiences. As the driving force behind bar operations at The Pear Tree, you'll oversee crafting unique cocktails and shaping the overall guest experience, promoting a culture of excellence and enjoyment. Primary responsibilities are at The Pear Tree, with opportunities to support other venues.

The Pear Tree is a premier events venue operated by Artemis Venue Services, renowned for delivering exceptional food, drinks, and service for weddings and events. Artemis manages 15 prestigious venues across the UK and aims to employ top hospitality talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management: Recruit, train, and inspire a passionate bar team, leading by example to foster professionalism, creativity, and energy.
  2. Drinks Leadership: Curate and develop the drinks menu, including signature cocktails and seasonal specials, blending central stock suppliers with local provenance.
  3. Service Excellence: Ensure exceptional service, balancing efficiency with personality to create memorable experiences.
  4. Manage Stock: Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management to achieve profitability without compromising quality.
  5. Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment, adhering to alcohol licensing laws.
  6. Financial Management: Manage till operations and record bar takings.
  7. Event Coordination: Collaborate with the events team for seamless service during weddings and events.

Venue Support: Support fellow bar managers at other venues by assisting with stocktaking, stock management, and providing guidance to ensure outstanding guest experiences.

Marketing Contribution: Partner with marketing to promote the bar, signature offerings, and events.

Legal & Licensing: Understand and comply with alcohol sale laws and licensing regulations.

What We're Looking For:

  1. Creativity and Passion: A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  2. Proven Experience: 2-3 years in a bar management role, preferably in hospitality or events.
  3. Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team positively.
  4. Tech Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  5. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail.
  6. Financial Skills: Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and increasing sales.
  7. Knowledge: Strong understanding of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and bar equipment.
  8. Flexibility: Willing to work evenings and weekends, especially during peak wedding seasons, and support other venues as needed.
  9. Personal Licence: Required for alcohol service oversight.
  10. Willingness to become DPS: If required.
  11. Transport: Own transport is essential due to venue locations.
  12. Eligibility: Must be eligible to work full-time in the UK.
