Maison Estelle in Mayfair is looking for a Barback to support busy front-of-house operations and help maintain high standards of service. You will keep the bar area clean, stock the bar, and assist bartenders with drink preparation.

We reward your effort with a base salary of £26,686 plus gratuities and service charge, estimated at £6,656, targeting a total on-target earnings of £33,342 per annum.

Qualifications

• Previous Bar Back experience in a busy hospitality venue is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to plan and work unsupervised during shifts.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks and stock checks.
• Strong time-management and prioritisation during busy periods.
• Good communication with colleagues, management and members.
• Solid command of English and guest-facing professionalism.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.

Responsabilités

• Wash and store glasses according to SOPs.
• Oversee dish washer maintenance and daily cleaning.
• Restock bars as required by Bartenders.
• Keep bar and BOH areas tidy and deep-clean when needed.
• Refill fridges and move stock between cellars and bars.
• Receive deliveries and log discrepancies.
• Prepare garnishes, syrups and bitters with Bartenders.
• Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages as required.
• Assist bartenders with bar organization and inventory.
• Maintain knowledge of the full bar menu including beer, wine and cocktails.

Who are we?

Maison Estelle is a private members’ club set in a Grade I-listed Georgian townhouse on Grafton Street, Mayfair. A ‘hosted home’, bringing people together that have plenty to say and nothing to prove. A new school club (no rules), with old school values of personalised service and discretion.

The on target earning potential for this role is £33,342 per annum - comprising a base salary of £26,686, plus a qualified estimate of £6,656 in gratuities and service charge

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities for the Barback will include but are not limited to:

• Washing glasses and store them in the correct place according to the members club SOP’s.
• Overseeing the dish washer’s maintenance and ensure it is cleaned daily.
• Restocking the bars as required by the Bartenders.
• Keeping the bar and BOH areas clean and tidy, including the area behind the bar counter and shelves.
• Ensuring that at the end of the shift the bars are deep cleaned every time.
• Refilling fridges and move stock between the cellars and bars as and when required following stock requisition process where appropriate.
• Helping with receiving deliveries and storing goods in the appropriate manner informing the management team of any discrepancies.
• Preparing fruit, garnishes and homemade syrups and bitters in collaboration with the Bartenders and Head Bartenders.
• Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for our members when required.
• Helping the Bartenders to organise the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
• Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of the entire bar menu, including the beer, wine and cocktail lists.
• Assisting with other tasks such as tidying up and restocking the bar and supporting the rest of the front of house team as necessary.

• Previous Bar Back experience in a busy and high-volume hospitality operation is desirable but not essential.
• Planning ability; able to work unsupervised.
• Attention to detail, able to identify mistakes and request clarification.
• Excellent time-management skills; comfortable prioritising what is important during busy periods.
• Good communication skills and comfortable talking to colleagues, senior management, and members.
• Good command of English.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.
