Job summary

Farmhouse Inns, part of Greene King, is offering a Bar and Waiting Apprentice position. You’ll greet guests, take orders, mix and present drinks, and help with dining service in a welcoming pub setting.

This work-based apprenticeship (level 2) includes Functional Skills in English and maths, mentorship, and paid training with Lifetime Training. Working weeks are 35–40 hours, with shifts evenings and weekends, plus attractive staff discounts and benefits.

• Functional Skills in English and maths will be provided if needed.
• Eligibility for an apprenticeship in catering and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a memorable experience at every visit.
• Be the insider behind the bar, offering recommendations to customers.
• Prepare and present drinks to meet specifications and expectations.
• Assist with greeting, serving food and looking after customers while they dine.
• Keep the bar safe, legal, clean and address issues promptly.

As a Bar and Waiting Apprentice, you will...

• Provide customers with a heartfelt and memorable experience each and every time they visit
• Be the insider behind the bar, offering recommendations to customers
• Prepare and present drinks that meet specifications and customer expectations
• Assist in greeting, serving food and looking after our customers whilst they dine with us
• Make sure the bar is always safe, legal, and clean, and any issues are dealt with as quickly and safely as possible

What your apprenticeship includes:

• You won't need to attend college; our apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6-weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you
• Obtain Functional Skills in English and maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents)
• Reviews every 12-weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.
