Banking Product Control Lead (Job Share)

  • This is a job share opportunity, meaning you and another colleague will share the duties of one full-time job, each working part-time hours on a pro-rata basis.
What you'll do

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the delivery and integrity of product control activities for a subset of products, supporting statutory and external reporting. This involves reviewing key reporting metrics and evidence of controls for consistency.

You will lead a team to deliver high-quality, accurate product-level finance data to support financial, statutory, regulatory, and management reporting within agreed timelines.

Your top priorities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and the effectiveness of our controls, adhering to CEC guidelines.
  • Leading your team to perform product control activities within Banking Product Control and meeting reporting cycle deadlines.
  • Reviewing month-end production for activities on the group-wide banking architecture.
  • Managing the balance sheet substantiation of relevant product source balances for our franchises and legal entities.
  • Supporting the Banking Product Controller with expertise for all month-end activities and participating in various committees.
  • Maintaining the integrity of financial information, including the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
  • Providing product support expertise to Business Unit Reporting and Financial Control, especially during audits.
The skills you'll need

You should be a qualified accountant with experience in a business environment, working under tight deadlines and managing key financial deliverables. Commercial insight is also essential.

Additionally, you should have experience leading global finance teams and delivering core controls and reports, including ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, and external audits.

Required skills include:

  • Ability to build and influence relationships at a senior level.
  • Understanding of Oracle financial applications and data management tools like Python, AWS, and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of change management best practices.
  • Experience delivering change in financial services or medium to large corporates.
