Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare in Brighton seeks an experienced ward nurse to join our dedicated team. You will provide skilled clinical and technical support as part of the ophthalmic surgical pathway and peri-operative care in the theatre and refractive suites.

Applicants must be a Registered General Nurse or ODP with current NMC/ODP registration and ophthalmology/perioperative qualifications; experience in ophthalmology theatres and private/operating settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with current registration.
• Specialist ophthalmic perioperative care knowledge or qualifications.
• Experience in ophthalmology theatre or similar perioperative environment.
• Experience in private and operative settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway.
• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team.
• Deliver peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical/refractive suites.

The Role

You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway at Optegra. It goes without saying that you’ll be passionate about provide excellent care to all patients. You will have specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team. This will also include peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital.

What You’ll Need

• Be a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Have a current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions
• A qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri operative care
• Previous experience in an Ophthalmology Theatre, minimum of one year
• Have knowledge in private and operation settings.
