Job summary

Affinity Trust is seeking a compassionate support worker in Leicester to help six adults in their own flats, promoting independence and social connections. You will adapt daily support to each person’s needs, encourage self-directed choices, and assist in building confidence and life skills.

Training is provided, and you will be involved in helping the individuals join local clubs and community activities while ensuring a respectful, patient approach to care.

Location and Compensation

• Location: Leicester (LE5)
• Hourly rate: £13.00 per hour (Rising from £12.75 from 26th October 2026)
• Hours per week: Bank
• Training Provided: Full training provided
• Benefits: We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS
• Sponsorship is not available for this position

Who will I support?

• You will support 6 males living in their own flats at the same location in Leicester.
• The people we support range in their level of independence and have their own unique interests, such as football, watching their favourite TV shows and getting out into the community.
• During your shift, you will help different people, encourage their independence, and build good relationships.
• We are looking for friendly, confident, and bubbly staff with a good sense of humour who can help make each day enjoyable.

How will I make a difference?

• You will adapt your support to fit what each person needs and wants daily.
• You will encourage people to make their own choices, big and small.
• You will help people to do things themselves to be as independent as possible.
• You will support people to build confidence and life skills.
• You will support people to be a part of their community, joining local clubs and connecting with friends and family.
• You will be understanding, allowing people to take their time and do things at their own pace.
• You will celebrate people’s achievements, no matter how small they might seem to others.
