Everything you do matters
From the moment you open the door and enter one of our services, you become something more than you once were.
You enter the place our young people call home, a place where a grin can make a young person’s day, where listening can not only save but shape a life, a place whereby simply turning up on time and being present has a bigger impact than it does anywhere else.
Walking through the door at Cambian means having a direct impact on the futures of the young people in our care. At one of our places, asking “how was school?” is so much more than a throwaway question; it’s about stability, paying genuine interest, and listening to the response. It’s a way to break barriers, unlock confidence, and demonstrate that you are here, and this place is safe.
Our Residential Care Workers are fundamental to the development of the young people in our homes. Yes, there will be challenges, lows, and highs, but every step forward is a cause for celebration, and a simple “well done” goes a long way!
Our homes accommodate young people aged 8-18 from diverse backgrounds, with varying social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our goal is to create the best possible outcomes to help each young person reach their full potential.
The days can be long but…
You’ll make a genuine difference daily, ensuring minimal disruption to their lives and filling their days with meaningful interactions that others might take for granted.
Your day involves helping them get ready for the day—whether for school or a morning at the park—ensuring the home feels like “home,” which includes tasks like vacuuming, helping with homework, or preparing dinner. Evenings and weekends are for fun activities like playing video games, board games, or trips to the movies.
There is paperwork and planning involved, but supporting our young people is never boring. The days may be long, but time flies, and the work is meaningful.
How we appreciate you
We offer the best induction in the sector with two weeks of face-to-face training delivered by experts. We also fund NVQ levels 3-5 if you demonstrate capability and desire.
You do you…
We are proud of our individuals who strive to achieve high standards and positive outcomes for children, young people, and each other.
All we ask is that you demonstrate our core values:
Friendly, Positive, Innovative, Empowering, and Person-Centred
These values guide our decisions and actions to achieve the best outcomes for everyone involved.
