Job summary

Priory Group is seeking a Bank Bank Support Worker at Fernleigh House in Leyland, Preston. You will provide personal care, support daily living tasks, and help residents participate in activities while maintaining records and safeguarding confidentiality.

The role requires flexibility across early/late shifts, including weekends and some night work. Experience with learning difficulties, autism, and epilepsy is advantageous; full training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
  • Encourage and assist participation in activities and community life.
  • Support service users in achieving their personal outcomes in the way they choose.
  • Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality in line with policies and regulations.
  • Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress.
  • Promote choice, independence, and involvement at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.
  • Working with the team to support residents to "Live Their Life" as independently as possible

Fernleigh House £13.75 Bank contract

Fernleigh House has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team. This is a bank contract and we can offer various shift patterns across earlies, lates and longer days including weekends and occasional night shifts.

Fernleigh House is located in Leyland, a suburb of Preston, in Lancashire. It offers residential support to six autistic males and females and people with a learning disability.

We can also support those who have:

  • Difficulties with communication
  • Moderate to severe behaviour that may challenge
  • Epilepsy
What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
