The Transforming Care Autism Team are a specialist assessment and consultation multidisciplinary team who work alongside SPFT colleagues to support discharges and avoid admissions for autistic young people and adults. We have some additional short term funding and we are looking for B6 or B7 Speech and Language Therapists who are interested in working with autistic young people and/or adults who are inpatient or at risk of admission using neuroaffirmative approaches.
The Speech and Language Therapist role within the team provides specialist assessments of communication and language in order to support a holistic formulation of how neurodiversity may be contributing to presenting risks. Individual interventions may be completed with individuals to collaboratively understand their neurodiversity and make recommendations for communication strategies and reasonable adjustments required.
