Job summary

PDSA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly bank team. You’ll pick up shifts that fit around your life, supporting a busy hospital that cares for pets and their owners in need.

You’ll rotate through nurse consults, inpatient care, theatre work (including Schedule 3 where appropriate) and dispensing medications, bringing calm organisation, clear communication and hands‑on nursing to every shift.

Qualifications

• RVN with nursing skills and flexible shifts.
• Ability to work in different parts of the hospital including consults, inpatient care, theatre and dispensing medications.
• Strong communication and teamwork with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse consults and inpatient care as needed.
• Assist in theatre and Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate.

About you

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly bank team at PDSA. If you enjoy variety, want to keep your nursing skills sharp and are looking for flexible work that fits around your life, this could be ideal for you. As a Bank RVN at PDSA, you’ll pick up shifts that suit your availability, supporting a busy, purpose-led hospital caring for pets and owners who really need our help.

You’ll be confident stepping into different parts of the hospital as needed, from nurse consults and inpatient care to theatre work (including Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate) and dispensing medications. You’ll bring a calm, organised approach, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for practical, hands-on nursing. You’re happy explaining things clearly to clients, working closely with colleagues and helping to keep things running smoothly, even on the busier days.

You’ll be a team player who can quickly build rapport with new people and adapt to different routines and shift patterns. Whether you’re topping up your hours, balancing other commitments or easing back into clinical work, you’ll be part of an experienced, supportive team who value what you bring.
