Job summary

The Harborne Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, is seeking Bank Porters to provide a first-class portering and security service across the site during day and night shifts.

You will move patients and visitors, deliver mail and equipment, assist with luggage, escort patients to rooms and support fire/crash team activities while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items.
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide portering/security service including delivery/collection of mail, linen, drugs and other items as required.
• Escort patients to their rooms and assist with luggage.
• Relieve reception staff for breaks and support front of house operations.
• Parking and assisting with transport needs; check gauges and gas bottles as required.
• Be part of hospital fire and safety and crash teams.

You will provide a first class portering service to all patients, consultants and visitors to the hospital as required. This will include taking patients and visitors to their rooms, transferring patients between hospital departments, delivery of mail, equipment and materials and ensuring the safety and security of everyone within our hospital.Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life.
