Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a Porter, you could be moving:

• patients on beds


• stores and equipment


• samples of patients' blood


• post and parcels


• linen and waste


• cylinders of gas


• food and drink

You'll be a part of the portering team and will have contact with clinical and non-clinical staff. As you'll be coming into contact with such a wide range of people and environments you must be:

• friendly and helpful


• calm and reassuring


• physically fit for lifting, walking, pushing, etc.


• reliable and happy to work flexible, variable hours


• willing to work with staff and patients of all ages and from all walks of life


• health and safety aware


• able to follow instructions carefully


• highly organised

Qualifications

• Educated to a standard of basic numeracy and literacy.


• Good understanding of the spoken English Language
