Qualifikationen

• Phlebotomy experience or training in venepuncture.
• Excellent communication with patients and healthcare teams.
• Strong focus on infection prevention and patient safety.
• Ability to adapt communication for patients with anxiety or cognitive challenges.

Aufgaben

• Provide a high-quality, safe and compassionate venepuncture service across clinic and community settings.
• Undertake blood sample collection in accordance with organisational policies and laboratory requirements, ensuring correct patient identification and accurate labelling and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals, providing clear explanations and reassurance throughout the patient journey.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy and comfort at all times and adapt communication to meet individual needs.
• Monitor patients during and after procedures and escalate adverse events when required.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control and safe disposal of sharps and waste.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment and report faults, incidents, near misses and complaints.
• Accurately record patient activity and completed procedures using electronic patient record systems with confidentiality.
