Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking a Bank Ophthalmology Nurse to support the Wet AMD service in Outpatients across Powys. You will work autonomously, with strong communication and leadership skills, and contribute to efficient patient flow in a busy ophthalmology unit.

The role requires current NMC registration, ophthalmology expertise (or equivalent injector experience) and a teaching qualification. Welsh language skills are welcomed, with training support offered.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration.
• Ophthalmology qualification (or equivalent clinical experience as an intravineal injector).
• Teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with complex eye conditions such as macular issues, retinal vein occlusion and diabetic macular oedema.
• Review diagnostic tests (OCT, Visual Field Testing, Intraocular pressures) and administer intravitreal treatments per guidelines.
• Undertake clinical triage of referrals appropriate to scope of practise and expertise.
